President Signs Contract for Airport Saturday - 14 July 2007


Costa Rican President Signs a Contract for Construction of an International Airport in the Southern Pacific Zone 20 – 30mins from
PuraVidaEcolodge. Today Costa Rican President Oscar Arias visited Palmar Norte to sign the official documents to formalize the construction of a new international airport in the Southern Pacific zone of Costa Rica in Valle de Sierepe, near Palmar Norte/Cortez. This will be Costa Rica's third international airport built (San Jose and Liberia are the other two).

President Arias has continued to help drive the growth in the Southern Pacifc region by authorizing many government, infrastructural improvements including a new hospital to open in August 2007 in Cortez, the paving of the road from Quepos to Dominical (projected May 2008) and now the newest international airport in the country (to be started in 2008). Many dignitaries attended the announcement including several Senators and Mayors and Deputy Mayors of the region
